Day4
Day 4 showed additional development by the fry. For the first time gills can be seen on the head, along with increased blood flow throughout the entire body.

Day4 - Gills: (Above) For the first time gills can be seen on the underside of the head. (Below) Time lapse images show the fry moving around in order to increase water flow over the newly formed gills.

Day 4 - Blood flow: Increase blood flow is seen throughout the entire fry. (Above) Blood can now be seen moving in the area just behind the yolk sac. Click to play. (Below) Increased blood flow is now also seen in the tail. Click to play.

For the first time I was also able to visualize the filament which adheres the fry to the surface to which they are laid. Technically the filament is clear and not visible, however small particles and air bubbles can be seen trapped in the filament.

Day 4 - Filament: The filament which holds the fry to the surface can be seen by the particles caught in it.

After taking a number of images I was also able to assemble a high resolution complete view of a 4 day old fry. The image is a compilation of more than 35 individual images.

Day 4 - Fry: A compilation of more than 35 individual images was used to create this high resolution complete image of a fry (background is artificially colored). The image is shown at approximately 15% of actual size. (A smaller image was used for the website to save bandwidth)
